Originally from Singapore, Magdalene received her MEng in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2020. She first joined the Almquist Lab in the summer of 2017 as an undergraduate researcher working on bio-scaffolds and image processing for drug delivery. Magdalene then undertook an industrial placement for a year with Novartis, in Switzerland, where she developed a computational skin model. Following her year in industry, Magdalene re-joined the Almquist Lab to complete her Bioengineering MEng thesis working with the group’s TrAP platform technology. Enthralled by the possibilities of the technology, Magdalene received an EPSRC iCASE PhD studentship, in collaboration with ConvaTec, to pursue innovative solutions to wound healing enabled by TrAPs.
